The Titan Store has over 200 titles available for rental!

How to rent books in store:

When you view your booklist on our Textbook website you will see that you have a choice to rent new, rent used, buy new, or buy used on selected titles. We have left the choice to you. Just like in the past we have new or used books on the shelves, but now you can choose to buy or rent selected titles. Of course new rentals are more expensive than used rentals just as new books are more expensive than used books.

You can also look for the "Rent It" signs on the textbook floor shelves and shelf tags which designate which books you can rent. Simply bring your books to any cashier and let the cashier know if you want to rent or buy each book. You must have a Lane# and be a student in good standing to rent. You will be asked to sign a rental agreement when you pay for your books—that’s it.

A copy of the rental agreement is available at the bottom of the page.

Please update your email address and set as preferred in MyLane; so that you can receive reminder emails concerning the rental return due date and other rental information.

How to rent books using our website:

If the rental option is available for a book you will see that choice and you simply need to choose to rent instead of to buy. You will be required to give your Lane# and to agree to the online rental agreement by checking a box when you check out of the online shopping cart.

Rental FAQ's:

Can I get a refund on a rented book if I decide I don't want it or if I drop the class?

Yes. Refunds for rented textbooks will be treated in the same manner as refunds for purchased textbooks. Refunds are generally allowed through the first week of class. Please check your receipt for exact dates. New rental books must still be in new condition for a full refund. Receipts are required for ALL returns.

Why isn't the book for my class available for rent?

The rental program has been expanded to include over 170 books and we are working on adding more next quarter.

Are rental books available through online purchase?

You can rent your book in store or online.

When do I have to return my rented books to the Titan Store?

Rentals may be returned for full refund on or before textbook return deadline.

You can "check-in" a rental book without a refund any time during the term. The rental "check-in" deadline is usually the first business day after finals week. Rentals are NOT accepted past this date! Students who do not return rental books will be charged for the replacement cost of the book (the difference between purchase price and rental fee already paid), plus a $15 processing fee.

Distance Learning Students: Winter Term Rental Check-in Deadline is Monday, March 23th, 2015 at 5:00 pm.
Rental must be received by The Titan Store on or before Rental Check-In date.  See rental agreement for complete terms of agreement and dead-lines.

Can I use a highlighter in my rental books?

Minimal highlighting and marking is allowed. If marks are excessive (more than a few pages) you will be charged the difference between the rental and purchase prices.
